Before you book

Your First Skin Clinic Consultation in Seoul, Step by Step (2026)

3D Rendering

By Dr. IM JUNHYUNG · Updated

Short answerSend one message before you come: your Seoul dates, flight times and what bothers you. At the clinic, a doctor examines your face and explains the options, and you get a written plan and price — with no decision needed that day. If you go ahead, numbing comes first, then treatment by the doctor named on your plan, and the shots or units are checked with you and signed on your record.
  • Bring your flight times, a list of medicines and supplements, and details of recent treatments.
  • If you might have lifting the same day, allow two to three hours; injectables take less.
  • Prices are the same for every nationality and exclude 10% VAT, added at payment.
  • Bookings for international visitors open in December. Message us your Seoul dates now.

Before you come: one message

The most useful thing you can send is your arrival and departure times. The same treatment can be easy or stressful depending on where it falls in your trip, so we plan from your flight.

Add what bothers you in your own words — “my jawline has gone soft”, “my skin looks tired” — and, if you like, a photo in daylight without filters. Tell us about medicines and supplements that can increase bruising, such as aspirin, blood thinners or fish oil; recent fillers, threads or lasers; pregnancy; and events right after you get home. Never stop a prescribed medicine without asking the doctor who prescribed it.

Message us on WhatsApp, LINE or WeChat. We answer questions now. Bookings open in December — send your Seoul dates and we’ll contact you in order when they open.

Who you’ll see

A doctor consults you in person, and you’ll know who performs your treatment before it starts. Consultation is in English.

It’s a fair question to ask anywhere in Seoul: who will I see, and who will treat me? In busy clinics the person who explains prices may not be a doctor, and the doctor you meet may not be the one who treats you. The answer you want is a named doctor, written on your plan.

What the doctor checks

For lifting, three things decide the plan: skin thickness, how deep the sagging goes and how much facial fat you have. Together they decide which device suits, which depths to use and how much energy is sensible. For Ultherapy, the layers are also confirmed on live imaging.

For injectables, we look at your face at rest and moving and ask about previous filler. For visitors from abroad we start with options that can be corrected if needed. For skin, we look at oil, pigment and texture — and at how much redness your trip can absorb.

If something won’t help, we say so, including when surgery would be the better answer.

The written plan and the price

Before anything starts, the plan goes on paper: the device or product, the areas and depths, and the shots, units or cc. You also receive a written quote.

Prices are in Korean won and the same for every nationality — there is no foreigner rate. They exclude 10% VAT, which is added at payment. Korea’s VAT refund for tourists’ cosmetic treatments ended on 31 December 2025, so no refund is given at departure. Payment methods are confirmed at consultation.

No same-day decision is required, and we never push decisions with discounts. Take the plan back to your hotel if you want to think.

Numbing, then treatment

Most treatments start with numbing cream, which needs about 30 minutes to work. If you’re sensitive or anxious, say so at consultation: besides numbing cream and cooling, we can use painkillers, anesthetic injections or sedation, depending on the treatment. Our guide to numbing options explains each.

Then the doctor named on your plan treats you. The treatment itself takes from about ten minutes for Botox to 60–90 minutes for Ultherapy or Thermage.

Count, sign, keep

Single-use tips and injectables are checked for seals and lot numbers and opened in front of you. For cartridges used across sessions, such as Ultherapy and Duotite, the shot counter is checked with you before and after.

When we finish, the actual numbers are written next to the plan. You and the doctor sign the record card, and you take it home. We also send it as a photo, so any doctor back home can see exactly what was done. Our guide to checking shot counts shows what a record should cover.

After you fly home

Send photos by messenger. We’ll check how it looks and give general aftercare advice. For an exam or a prescription, see a local doctor and show them your record.

What to bring

  • Your passport, for patient registration
  • Your flight times and the area you’re staying in
  • A list of medicines and supplements
  • Names of products used before — the filler or Botox brand — or an old treatment record, if you have one
  • No heavy makeup, if you might be treated the same day

FAQ

Can I come just for a consultation?

Yes. No same-day decision is required.

Will I see a doctor or a coordinator?

A doctor consults you in person, and you’ll know who performs your treatment before it starts.

Can I be treated on the same day?

Often, yes — if the plan suits your schedule and nothing needs to wait, such as recent filler in the same area. If you’d rather think about it, take the written plan with you.

How long does a first visit take?

If you might have lifting the same day, allow two to three hours: consultation, about 30 minutes of numbing, the treatment and the record. Injectables take less.

Is there a foreigner price?

No. Prices are the same for every nationality. They exclude 10% VAT, which is added at payment.

Can I get a tax refund at the airport?

Not at the moment. Korea’s VAT refund for tourists’ cosmetic treatments ended on 31 December 2025, so no refund is given at departure.

How do I book?

Message us on WhatsApp, LINE or WeChat. We answer questions now. Bookings open in December — send your Seoul dates and we’ll contact you in order when they open.

What if I have a concern after I get home?

Send photos by messenger. We’ll check how it looks and give general aftercare advice. For an exam or a prescription, see a local doctor — your record shows exactly what was done.

General information, not medical advice. Your plan is set at an in-person consultation; results vary by individual.
