How Long Should You Stay in Seoul After Aesthetic Treatments? (2026)

3D Rendering

By Dr. IM JUNHYUNG · Updated

Short answerPlan by recovery, not by treatment name. Energy-based lifting such as Ultherapy, Thermage and Sofwave usually needs one to two days; fillers and jaw Botox two to three, with a check before you fly; skin boosters and Potenza three to five; a thread lift five to seven days or more. Tell the clinic your flight time first, and the order of treatments follows from it.
  • Most energy-based treatments are back to normal the same day.
  • Fillers can swell or bruise — we like to check the shape before you fly.
  • Skin boosters and Potenza leave small bumps or redness for 1–3 days, so they go early in your trip.
  • Medicines and supplements that increase bruising matter — tell us before you book.

Start from your flight

The same treatment can be easy or stressful depending on when it happens in your trip. A filler done on your last morning leaves no time to check the result; the same filler on day two gives swelling time to settle and us a chance to see you again. That is why we ask for your arrival and departure times before suggesting anything.

One to two days: energy-based lifting and lasers

Ultherapy, Thermage, Sofwave, XERF, Alltite, InMode, ONDA and pico toning are usually back to normal the same day. Mild redness, swelling or tenderness can last a few days, and temporary numbness or bruising is possible but uncommon. Most people fly comfortably the next day; Botox is also fine for a short stay.

If you only have a day or two, our Before-Flight Lift (Sofwave + Skin Botox) is built for that: almost no downtime, about 1.5 hours including numbing. Combining several lifting devices in one visit, as in our Layer Lift, is more comfortable with two to three days.

Two to three days: fillers and jaw Botox

Hyaluronic acid filler often settles quickly, but swelling or bruising can last a few days, especially around the eyes and lips. We like to see filler again before you fly, so plan two to three days. Jaw Botox has no real downtime, but small bruises at the injection points can take a few days to fade.

Three to five days: skin boosters and Potenza

Rejuran, Juvelook, PDRN, Skinvive and Re2O are injected in small, shallow points, so expect small bumps or marks for one to three days. Potenza is radiofrequency microneedling rather than a booster; redness usually lasts one to three days. Book these early in your trip so the skin has settled before you leave. Makeup is usually fine from the next day, and sunscreen matters for the following weeks.

Radiesse and Ellansé can swell or bruise for a few days, and because they cannot be dissolved like hyaluronic acid, we start conservatively with visitors from abroad. Sculptra works as a series of sessions a few weeks apart, so we plan it around your return visits.

Five to seven days or more: thread lifts

Threads lift tissue immediately, but swelling, bruising and a tight feeling can last three to seven days. Plan five to seven days or more, with a check before your flight.

Sample plans for 3, 5 and 7 days

StayA typical plan
3 daysDay 1: arrive, consultation, energy-based lifting the same afternoon. Day 2: free — mild tenderness or swelling is common. Day 3: short check if needed, fly home.
5 daysDay 1: consultation and energy-based lifting. Day 2: injectables, if planned, so bruising has time to fade. Days 3–4: free; message your coordinator with any concern. Day 5: check before departure, fly home.
7 days +Day 1: consultation; texture or pigment treatments with visible downtime go first. Days 2–3: energy-based lifting and injectables. Days 4–6: recovery, with a check-in on day 5. Day 7: final check and an aftercare plan for home.

These are typical plans, not prescriptions. We finalise yours at consultation, after checking your skin, medication and flight time. See also our itineraries by length of stay.

Flying after treatment

Cabin pressure itself is rarely the problem. What matters is that swelling and bruising have settled the way you want, and that you can reach us if something feels wrong. On the flight, drink water, skip alcohol and sleep with your head slightly raised if you had injectables. Wear sunscreen for the following weeks.

What to tell us before you book

  • Your arrival and departure times.
  • Medicines and supplements that can increase bruising, such as aspirin, blood thinners or fish oil. Never stop a prescribed medicine without asking the doctor who prescribed it.
  • Recent treatments, especially fillers, threads or lasers in the last few months.
  • Pregnancy, or plans to become pregnant.
  • Events right after you return, such as a wedding or a photo shoot.

After you get home, you can send photos by message, and your record card shows any doctor exactly what was done.

FAQ

Can I fly the day after Ultherapy or Thermage?

Usually yes. Both are typically back to normal the same day. Mild swelling or tenderness can last a few days.

How soon can I fly after filler?

You can usually fly the next day, but swelling or bruising can last a few days. We prefer to check the shape before you leave, so plan two to three days.

Can I have Botox on the day I fly?

Usually yes. A morning appointment before an evening flight works; avoid rubbing or pressing the area that day.

Can I combine several treatments in one trip?

Yes. The order matters: treatments with visible downtime go first, energy-based lifting and injectables in the middle, and a check before you fly.

What if I bruise before my flight?

Bruises usually fade over about a week, and concealer can be used from the next day. If you’re unsure, send us a photo and we’ll give general advice.

Can I go to a jjimjilbang (Korean sauna) after treatments?

Not for about a week after energy-based lifting, and not for a few days after injectables. We give you written aftercare for each treatment.

General information, not medical advice. Your plan is set at an in-person consultation; results vary by individual.
